The Competition

Team Titans competes under Gosnells & Districts Little Athletics Centre and both GDLAC and Titans are affiliated with Western Australian Little Athletics Inc - our State body and organiser of State competitions.

Summer Competition

Titans athletes will be competing against athletes from four other clubs in the Gosnells & Districts Little Athletics Centre summer competition. Athletes compete both for themselves and for Titans at Langford Oval.

Athletes can compete in running events ranging from 60m to 1500m and walking events from 300m to 1500m all depending on their age. All athletes can compete discus, shot put, hurdles and long jump. Athletes U10 and older compete Javelin, while U7 - U9’s use the TurboJav. Athletes U10 and older also compete triple jump and high jump.

Each athlete is eligible for individual age group trophies at both centre and team level, and their individual points also count towards the Team trophies. Athletes earn points based on performances; the points are accrued throughout the season towards the athletes total for both Gosnells & Districts LAC and Team Titans trophies. Also as part of Titans LAC the points earned by each athlete go towards the Overall Champion Club Trophy, Multi Event Trophy (Pentathlon) & Walks Shield. Missed events or days means fewer points earned for the athlete and team.

From time to time athletes can be asked or can nominate to represent and compete for G&DLAC against athletes from other Centres. These competitions are conducted by WALA and include IGA PB Challenge, State Track or Field Relays, State Multi Event Championship, State Heats & Quarter Finals (Zones) and State Championships.

Winter Competition

In winter U7-U17 athletes can compete for Gosnells against other Centres in a fortnightly Cross Country run, on the alternate fortnight athletes can compete in a Road Walking competition. Athletes from all clubs are welcome; this is a good time to maintain contact with friends made from other clubs and centres during the summer as well as maintain and improve fitnes and speed for next season.

Winter training is organised by Gosnells Centre usually at Homestead Park Glenbrook Rd Thornlie. If athletes wish we may run our own sessions.

During the season G&DLAC holds invitational competitions in both roadwalking and cross country against other centres and at the end of the season WALA conducts State championships in both events. As with the summer athletes earn points based on performance culminating in Gosnells presenting champion age group trophies in both the walk & cross country events at the end of the season.

When representing Gosnells & Districts a Gold and royal blue shirt or singlet is worn with royal blue shorts.
